It had been quite a while, since Steve Drymalski spent his days making and playing music while cruising the country in a friends beat up van along with his band, Men Among Thieves.
As the saying goes, “life happened” and that universe took a slight turn… to the back burner at which point Drymalski put his music away for a many years, and concentrated on a behind the stage career….
Recently emerging from decades of rock n roll touring, along with enough miles to travel around the world several times, Steve has come back to his music once again along with a crew of musical compatriots from both his Milwaukee roots as well as his current home of Minneapolis to form the band SunDown47.
After stepping out of the musical spotlight in the 1990’s, , Drymalski once again reunited with his musical instincts in the midst of the pandemic, a time when touring had come to a halt. It was in this period that the music channel opened again in him, and a prolific catalogue began to flow out.
He, together with several well established members of the Twin Cities studio scene came together to collaborate on a few songs that he had penned. The project took on a life of its own, and it quickly became apparent that the inspiration would evolve into an entire album.
Entitled Along For The Ride, the debut record from SunDown47, became an outflow of musical vision merged with time and experience. After years of working side by side in multiple capacities with acclaimed artists such as Neil Young, Soundgarden, Sone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and Aerosmith among others, Drymalski was able to craft a unique musical style that reflects both an astounding rock n roll history as well as being able to capture the essence of the moment in song. Highly acclaimed Producer’s Niko Bolas and Dave Lohr, along with Minneapolis studio staple, Brad Matala seized those results and spun it into a completely unique and yet familiar sonic presentation.
This summer, SunDown47 will be stepping away from its behind the scenes roots, and will manifest itself, once again, into the spotlight with multiple midwestern appearances. You wont want to miss this debut
