CARBON LEAF

Carbon Leaf is a Richmond, VA-based indie rock band known for their brand of “ether-electrified porch music” that bridges roots, Americana, and pop with folk-driven songwriting and an indie-rock backbone.

Now in their 33rd year as an independent act with 21 releases and over 3,500 live shows nationwide, they deliver a high-energy, multi-instrumental set (acoustic/electric guitars, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, cello, penny whistle, rich harmonies) and have built a loyal audience through consistent U.S. touring. The band broke nationally as an independent act with “The Boxer,” winner of the 2002 American Music Awards for New Music and became the first unsigned band to perform on the AMAs.

Their 2004 follow up single “Life Less Ordinary” became their biggest radio hit, peaking at #5 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative (AAA) chart and #28 on Hot AC, expanding their touring base nationwide. After three charting albums on Vanguard Records and multiple songwriting awards, Carbon Leaf returned to full independence on their own Constant Ivy Music imprint and continues to tour heavily in support of their latest album, Time is the Playground.

Their sound reaches a broad, cross-generational AAA/adult-alternative audience
