On Tour

“This record does more for me and my self-worth than anything I’ve ever touched before. Everything from the lyrics to the songs themselves are a musical embodiment of my interests and personality and I love that I get to put that out there for people to listen to and be involved with,” shares Capsize vocalist Daniel Wand. “Going into the studio, the most important goal to me with this record was that it needed to be something that if I heard when I was at my most impressionable point, it would’ve made me desperate to make a band. I think I did that. And I think if I had this record when I was growing up it would’ve led me to exactly where I am today.”

Capsize will release their sophomore full-length, A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me, on July 22 via Equal Vision Records. The album features a more prominent post- hardcore sound than on the band’s debut, The Angst In My Veins, with the incorporation of clean singing throughout. The new album, which was recorded in Atlanta, GA at Glow In The Dark Studios with producer Matt McClellan (The Devil Wears Prada, Being As An Ocean), showcases the band’s undeniable energy and intensity – and signature darkness. Lyrically exploring personal demons and vulnerability, as well as love and loss, and musically exhibiting an impressive blend that ranges from driving, in-your-face chaos to unexpectedly ambient, dreamlike soundscapes – A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me pushes the band into new musical territory, while remaining true to their roots.

The band’s previous effort, The Angst In My Veins, was recorded with producer Jay Maas (Bane, Defeater) and impressively debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard New Artist Chart, No. 27 on the Hard Rock Chart and No. 53 on the Independent Artist Chart. Carrying an unimaginable amount of raw emotional weight, The Angst In My Veins shares an intense display of depression, honesty, anger, contemplation and reflection. The band’s no-holds-barred approach to lyrics is musically matched through a mix of dark, dirty riffs and atmospheric interludes driven forward with quick, crisp drumming. A flawless push and pull of dynamic delays and cascades of sound further contribute to an ongoing sense of urgency, dread, and anticipation throughout the album while lyrically maintaining a beautifully artistic intertwining of pain and fear. The Angst In My Veins reveals a depth of honesty, heartbreak and devastation that is rarely talked about, and impossible to ignore.

The non-stop touring following its September 2014 release landed Capsize at No. 5 on Bandsintown’s list of artists with the most tour dates in 2015, and included US runs with Silverstein, Senses Fail, Being As An Ocean, Defeater, ’68, and Counterparts, as well as multiple tours throughout Europe/UK, as well as their first ever tours in Japan and Australia. The band is currently on the 2016 Vans Warped Tour and will return to Europe and Japan later this year.
Capsize is comprised of Daniel Wand (vocals), Andrew Tamayo (drums), Ryan Knowles (guitar), and Nicolas Lopez (guitar).
